Document Imaging And Scanning Have Almost Become Synonymous

Document imaging can involve photocopying and microfilm or microfiche output, in addition to scanning into digital images. However document imaging and scanning have become so closely associated as to become synonymous.

The reason could be that scanning is the primary step in transferring paper-based information into the electronic content repositories of modern organizations. Under today’s Enterprise Content Management systems, electronic content is the lifeblood that drives business operations.

How Does Scanning Transfer Info Into Electronic Workflow?

Scanning alone cannot put paper-based information into the electronic workflow. What scanning does is to create a digital image of a paper document. This image can be a “pure” image like the image of a photograph; or it can be the Read the rest of this entry »

Should parents bring baby to the movie theater?

Should parents bring baby to the movie theater?

You buy your ticket, stand in line for that tub of popcorn and a drink to ward off all that salt, get your ticket torn, and then find a suitable seat. This is the movie-going ritual we all enjoy from time to time. Parents need to enjoy it as well. But they need to be considerate of the other people in the theatre.

Many single people go to the movies a lot. During the summer you might see the same people on a weekly basis going to see the blockbusters. This is a great way to spend time with friends, and escape life for 90 to 120 minutes at a time. Plus Read the rest of this entry »

Size discrepancies in female clothing

Sizes in clothes? They may as wel not exist! How can it be that a woman who sees her self as average height, average size….just a normal, everyday gal…. be a size 10 in peacocks yet the size 14 in topshop just about does up?! This happens no matter where you shop or what size you wear. You cant take it from shop to shop either…one week, the primark size 8-10 tops are a perfect fit, but when you go to buy that sweater the week after, it wont budge over your chest!

The problem is, there is no standard size for a woman. The female shape is ever changing, and clothing companies and stores are changing the way they Read the rest of this entry »

Is online video/Internet TV here to stay?

Online video is not only here to stay but will be an integral part of the Internet experience. The tendency has always been there, to want quality video feeds along with music. This is just a part of the synergistic direction the Internet has been headed, a trend towards being a multi-faceted interactive form of entertainment. However, it hasn’t always been this way. In the 90’s the Internet promised much, but didn’t provide reliable performance as far as music and video. In my experience, many of these sites worked for a while, and then would developed glitches, lockup or simply stopped working altogether.

Major broadcast news agencies made some gallant efforts in the beginning but were obviously before their time. Read the rest of this entry »

Why computers are frustrating – Part 1

For the most part people expect more from computers than what they can actually do. We put what we want into them get out what we want, but if we put in something wrong the same can be said for what comes out. As a I.T person I am always telling people read the manual, or instructions with little response. I come in look at what happened fix it if possible and then ask for a fee.

People don’t always want to learn or take the time to read even the basic. I get frustrated with users who before they even make an attempt at a application say they can’t do it. If only the user would Read the rest of this entry »
