A plus – Part 8

I am a plus size myself and my pet hate is stores that have “special” plus size ranges. When will the stores realize that what plus sizes want are the same clothes and choices as everyone else but in their size?

It can be a nightmare trying to find a pair of well fitting walking shorts or a plain black swimsuit to actually swim in. Some stores think that plus sizes automatically want garish prints and loud colours.

The best advice I can give is to love your plus size and embrace your good points. Many plus sizes have fantastic shoulders, beautiful cleavage and small waists; others have great legs or a fashionably shapely bottom. Once you have worked out your good Read the rest of this entry »

Which is the better video game platform: Console or PC?

Until the Playstation 3 and X-Box 360 came along I don’t think there was anything to debate. That’s why I had not purchased a console since the original Playstation (even then I didn’t use it much). Now the computer has some serious competition and is possibly about to take a back seat to the consoles. From my perspective there is a difference between a “video game” and a “computer game” although lately the lines have really been blurred. A video game (in my opinion) tends to be smaller in scope and less complex (that doesn’t mean not complex). Computer games tend to be more in-depth and more complex (bet you could’ve guessed I would say Read the rest of this entry »

The best destinations for adventure travel

What could be more adventurous than hiking on an active, erupting volcano? The “Big Island” of Hawaii is home to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea. Its name translates to “much spewing,” and is certainly appropriate, as the current eruption began over 23 years ago in January of 1983 and hasn’t stopped since. Kilauea is a “shield volcano” which oozes lava, instead of hurling rocks and ash into the sky or simply blowing up. This behavior makes it fairly approachable, as volcanoes go, and thus Hawaii is one of the few places ordinary people – over two million a year, according to the park – approach an erupting volcano, instead of fleeing.

I’ve been hiking Read the rest of this entry »

Student Loans – Part 1

Obtaining a college degree is a hard task in itself. Paying for the expenses that go along with attending college can be stressful and worrisome for many families. There’s more than just the tuition to consider: the student will also need a way to pay for his or her textbooks, housing, and meal plan. A reasonable option for both parents of students and students themselves is applying for a student loan.
PLUS Loans are specially designed for parents of students. These loans will finance 100% of the education costs and are not income sensitive. No one wants to worry about how to pay for their child’s education. This way, you’re getting a smart Read the rest of this entry »
